Lectures of 2021

Katriina Haikala is giving a lecture at the Lapua Art & Film Festival. The lecture will be held on Saturday July 10, 2021 at 13.00 in the Alajoki hall in Cultural Centre Vanha Paukku.
Katriina Haikala is a professional in the field of art and culture. In her work, Haikala experiments with border crossings in different fields of art and combinations, e.g. bringing together elements of visual arts, fashion, media art and performance art in her projects. The roots of her work lie in norm-criticism and interest in the power structures hidden in society. Haikala is particularly interested in the theme of otherness, the prejudices faced by different minorities and the concept of femininity in Western culture.
In her lecture, Katriina Haikala reviews the values in her work, her mission and the significance of art in society. Haikala addresses human rights issues, change and challenges in the field of art by presenting her artistic work and its results over the past 15 years.

The legendary Hannu-Pekka Björkman will give a lecture at the Lapua Art & Film Festival on the festival weekend. Björkman will lecture in the Alajoki Hall on July 10, 2021 at 16:00.
Hannu-Pekka Björkman is a well-known Finnish actor who has also previously worked as a professor on the subject. He is known in the fields of television, film and theater. He is a well-known and award-winning professional for his numerous film performances. Björkman has appeared in films such as Eläville ja kuolleille, Ihmisen osa, and in series such as M/S Romantic.
In his lecture, Björkman goes through his own journey in the field of film and art, and delves into the changes in the field of film and media through personal experiences.
